Teddy Bear Tea
Sunday, October 22, 2006 · 2:00 p.m. · Clarion Western
Plaza · Admission:
New teddy bear and/or children's book.
The
Teddy Bear Tea, the kick-off for the annual Festival of Trees
fundraiser, provides an afternoon for moms and dads to bring their
children to a semi-formal tea. The children are invited to
join the bear parade and hang their bear on the tree. Each
program varies but offers activities for the young and young at
heart. The bear trees are displayed in local business lobbies
until the Festival in November. They then go on display for
the duration of the Festival of Trees event. At the conclusion of
the Festival the bears are distributed to non-profit agencies and
given to children in need of a little extra comfort for the Holiday
Season. The generosity of our community allows many children to have
a treasured teddy bear to comfort them this Christmas and the whole
year through.
