Caregiver Support Group
Caring for those who care for others
Join other caregivers who share the same task to build a local support system.
The group is multipurpose – provide information for taking care of
yourself and your loved one along with sharing advice and understanding
with other caregivers. Meetings will open with short informational presentations
on a variety of caregiver topics followed by personal experience sharing.
Some sessions will offer guest presenters with topics such as nutrition,
exercise, home safety, medical needs, how to talk with someone with dementia,
taking care of the caregiver, and social and family circle for support.
Meetings held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Legacy
Living and Rehabilitation Center at 1000 S. Douglas Avenue in Gillette,
Wyoming at 6:30 pm; light refreshments provided.
March 14: Ryan Schrock, CCH
Rehabilitation Services specialist, will share from his expertise in working with a variety of
patients and the special needs of Alzheimers and dementia patients.
March 28: Open meeting, no guest scheduled.
April 11: Cathy Guzman, a local speech therapist, will speak about language and speech.
April 25: Barb St. Clair is our scheduled speaker, and will review the stages of
May 9: Robin Voigt, licensed family counselor, will visit with us on areas of
caregiver guilt and discouragement.
May 23: Open meeting, no guest scheduled.
June 13: Julie Simon, of Simonco Consulting LLC, will be our guest.
June 27: We will have a local caregiver present to share his experiences.
