 The Laboratory currently performs over 240 different tests and collects over 450 others to be sent to outside reference labs. The laboratory provides testing to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, and serves as a reference lab for many local physician offices, the CCMH Walk-in Clinic and Animal Medical Center Veterinary Clinic.
The Lab is currently located on the 3rd floor, south wing, during their remodeling project.
Our goal is to facilitate rapid and accurate test result availability for our customers.
The laboratory has 14 Medical Technicians/Technologists who perform highly complex testing. The laboratory has 7 staff who are either already certified as Phlebotomy Technicians, or who are eligible to test for their certification. There is great longevity in the lab with a combined total of 307 years of medical experience.
Quality measures
The laboratory monitors critical value documentation, blood culture contamination rates, blood bank utilization and turnaround times.
Healthcheck is offered for individuals who desire to play an active role in their own health.
The same testing that has traditionally been available at the health fair is available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7 -11 am in Classroom 3 on the 5th floor of the hospital.

Results are mailed directly to the customer with a copy included for your healthcare provider. Fasting for 12-14 hours is required for accurate test results (water is permitted). Call 688.1222 for detailed information on healthCHECK testing.
