EMT Course Information
Campbell County Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services requests from The State of Wyoming Department of Health and Preventive Medicine to offer Emergency Medical Technician Basic courses. The courses will have a start date of the end of August or the first part of September and run through the following January - a Fall Class. Spring classes start in January and run through May. They are typically two (2) nights a week with several all day long Saturday sessions. The classes consist of 136 intense hours of classroom and practical training, 24 hours of Emergency Care Department observation and 16 hours of ride time on the ambulance. A pre-requisite for the course is current CPR certification for the Health Care Provider. Course fees, subject to change, are $125 per student - including textbook, payable only upon acceptance to a course.
The State of Wyoming Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services is not required to provide a class in Campbell County Gillette or Wright based simply on our request. We may or may not be conducting Spring and/or Fall courses each year. Information for the next course will be posted when that information becomes available.
Space for the class is generally limited to 20 students. Applications are available in the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services offices in Gillette at 502 Stocktrail or in Wright at 515 Latigo Drive. Completed applications are kept on file until the next available class. Successful completion provides for certification as an EMT Basic and eligibility to sit for the National Registry of EMT examination.
