Letter to the Editor: CCMH Wants to Earn Back Public Confidence

Recently, a mistake made in interpreting information regarding the latter two of three cases of Strep A may have caused you to question the operations at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.

On behalf of the nearly 1,200 employees who come to work every day at the hospital with the sole purpose of giving the best care possible to every patient, I would like to take this opportunity to earn back your confidence.

We value the trust the community places in us for their health care, and we know that this trust has been damaged. We are taking, and continue to take concrete steps to restore your trust in us while continuing to protect the privacy of our patients.

We commissioned an outside investigation, and delivered the results of that investigation publically. We went, and are going above and beyond the reporting requirements to Public Health authorities. I want to advise that every precaution was taken to protect our patients and community during this period.

Now, we are conducting a community-wide epidemiological investigation of Strep A bacteria. Once that investigation is complete, we will share the results with you. Until we have the final results, we will not provide preliminary information that drives speculation or rumors. We will examine, analyze and improve our processes in the same way we do our clinical and quality processes.

We are proud of our position as an award winning health-care provider and significant contributor to the local economy, but more importantly, we are proud to be your friends and neighbors. Your opinions are important to us.

If you would like to share suggestions or comments, you can always contact us via email through our website, communityrelations@ccmh.net, or by posting on Facebook, www.Facebook.com/CCMHWy, or Twitter, @CCMH_WY, or by contacting CCMH Administration at 307.688.1551.

Sincerely,

Bob Morasko
Chief Executive Officer
