Local Physician Receives Certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine

GILLETTE , WY – Hans C. Kioschos, MD, of Powder River Orthopedics and Spine (PROS), recently received a Subspecialty Certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS).

Prior to this year’s exam, there were only 859 Orthopedic Surgeons in the United States who had reached this level of achievement.  Qualification for the examination is a rigorous process whereby the general public is assured that quality medical care is provided by a competent and knowledgeable physician.  It represents exceptional standards of quality care at every level, and demonstrates a physicians’’ expertise in a particular specialty of Orthopedic Surgery. Each surgeon applying for Orthopedic Sports Medicine certification had to submit approximately 120 sports medicine surgical cases, performed within a year, for the ABOS to evaluate and approve.

Dr. Kioschos is also Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, and has practiced in Gillette since 1997.

Congratulations to Dr. Kioschos for this accomplishment that further demonstrates his expertise in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.
