CCH Hospitalist Program
Your primary care doctor has partnered with Campbell County Health's
team of hospital physicians, called hospitalists, who will direct your
medical needs while in Campbell County Memorial Hospital (CCMH).
The hospitalist is a physician, usually specializing in Intenal Medicine,
who cares for hospital patients exclusively. Campbell County Health employs
a team of hospitalists to care for you. Patients under the care of a hospitalist
appreciate the immediate and around-the-clock access to a doctor.
Patients at CCMH are seen daily by the hospitalist, who will order all
tests, consult with specialists if needed, prescribe medicine, communicate
with nurses and therapists and monitor care. The hospitalist ensures that
important information about the patient's condition is relayed to
the primary care doctor. When the patient is discharged, the hospitalist
will visit with the primary care doctor, who provides any follow-up care.
