Hospitalist Program
307.688.1534

Your primary care doctor has partnered with our team of hospital physicians, called hospitalists, who will direct your medical needs while in the hospital.

The hospitalist is a physician, usually specializing in Intenal Medicine, who cares for hospital patients exclusively. Campbell County Memorial Hospital employs a team of hospitalists to care for you. Patients under the care of a hospitalist appreciate the immediate and around-the-clock access to a doctor.

Patients in the hospital are seen daily by the hospitalist, who will order all tests, consult with specialists if needed, prescribe medicine, communicate with nurses and therapists and monitor care.

The hospitalist ensures that important information about the patient's condition is relayed to the primary care doctor. When the patient is discharged, the hospitalist will visit with the primary care doctor, who provides any follow-up care.

Quality

The hospitalist program calls all patients seen by the hospitalist to monitor for appropriate follow-up care.

The hospitalist team consists of eight full-time hospitalists. Seven are Board Certified in Internal Medicine and one is Board Certified in Family Practice. Two of the eight are also Board Certified in Pediatrics.
