The Intensive Care Unit cares for critically ill patients requiring complex assessments and therapies, high intensity interventions and continuous monitoring. Pediatric patients are treated in a special area designed especially for them.
Care is provided utilizing an interdisciplinary team to create a humane, caring and healing environment.
Staff consists of registered nurses specially trained in Critical Care. Five current staff have CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification, and one is certified in both adult and pediatric critical care. Registered Nurses from ICU are part of the CCMH Rapid Response
Team.
Quality
ICU staff performs ongoing evaluation of the Rapid Response Team, performance improvement on Pressure Ulcers as part of the Wound and Skin Team, and evaluates other processes such as Restraint Use, Ventilator safety and Patient Education.
CCMH has the highest number of registered nurses certified in Critical Care in Wyoming.
